About Us
Phil Gilbert Homebush Bay is a family owned and operated business located on Parramatta Road, Lidcombe adjacent to Sydney's Olympic Park. The Dealership spans 5 acres and is centrally located in Metropolitan Sydney for retail and fleet customers.
Phil Gilbert commenced his involvement in the motor industry in 1969 in a family owned dealership, Gilbert & Roach trucks. He owned his own Used Truck buiness, before purchasing his first new vehicle franchise in 1983 with Nissan at Lakemba.
In 1988, Phil acquired York Toyota, Lidcombe, currently trading as Phil Gilbert Homebush Bay. Phil's determination and commitment to the franchise has ensured his continual domination in the metropolitan Sydney market to maintain his status as a National Top 20 Toyota Dealer. The Mitsubishi franchise was further added to the dealership in 1992. Phil Gilbert Homebush Bay has also had a long-standing relationship with Toyota Financial Services (TFS) and has been a TFS dealer since 1990.

- Highest cumulative net retail business total for TFS, Phil Gilbert Homebush Bay attained $200,000,000.00 in December 2000 and reached $300,000,000.00 in November 2003;
- TFS Dealer of the Year 1999 and 2000;
- TMCA Silver Knight 2000 - 2004;
- TMCA Triple Crown Dealer 2000 - 2004;
- TMCA Dealer of the Year 1992;
- TMCA National Top 20 Dealer every year from 1989 up to and including 2005

The improved customer lounge will feature a few creature comforts to make your next car service a highly enjoyable one. So while waiting for your car to be serviced, you'll be able to relax in our customer area with a coffee and watch our new plasma screen tv. More details on these developments soon.

At Mitsubishi, we take our environmental commitment very seriously.
We recognise that our vehicles impact on the environment in various forms as they go through their lifecycle of production, use and recycling. For this reason, we are committed to reducing our environmental impact in the following key areas:
Improving our Environmental Management
- Designing more environmentally sound and sustainable vehicles.
- Obtaining ISO Certification for our planning and development activity.
- Training our employees, publishing email magazines and hosting educational sessions to ensure all stakeholders are informed and aware.
- Periodically auditing our facilities and completing resource recovery operations.
- Improving our communication regarding environmental issues with the general public and communities in which we operate.
Preventing Global Warming & Environmental Pollution
- Improving our fuel economy and reducing vehicle emissions.
- Utilising refrigerant, conservation-type air conditioners in all new vehicles.
- Conducting target-based activities to reduce our use of electricity, fuel and other types of energy.
- Developing low-emission vehicles, including investigating an electric vehicle that emits no carbon dioxide.
- Taking steps to make the cabins of our vehicles more comfortable and safer by reducing emissions and utilising bio-clear filters.
- Requiring all suppliers follow our management of hazardous substances guidelines and disclosing data on their use.
- Complying with industry and environmental regulations regarding air, water, noise and vibration.
- Running awareness campaigns promoting 'eco driving'.
- Collecting chlorofluorocarbons and disposing of them in an environmentally responsible manner.
Recycling and Resource Conservation
- Promoting reuse and recycling wherever possible.
- Endeavoring to maintain a zero-volume final disposal record by reducing the volume of waste generated and converting from thermal recycling to material recycling.
- Promoting the return of packaging - by designing racks and shipping boxes that can be compressed from one-third to one-tenth their size after delivery.
- Collecting and disposing of used polypropylene bumpers and airbags.
- Finely separating and storing the large volume of waste generated during maintenance and repairs. Much of this material is then sold as scrap metal or for other purposes.
